Dark Mode, Daily Streaks & a Refreshed Design
We've been busy — here's what's new on OnSudoku.
Dark Mode & Light Mode
The site now supports dark and light themes. You can switch between them in the navigation menu — choose whichever is easier on your eyes.
Daily Streaks
Play at least one puzzle every day and build a streak. The longer your streak, the more points you earn per game:
- 2-day streak: +0.5% to your score
- 5-day streak: +2%
- 10-day streak: +4.5%
- 14+ days: up to +10%
Your current streak and best streak are shown on your profile. Miss a day and the streak resets — so keep it going!
Learn Sudoku Techniques
A new Learn section is now available in the navigation. It covers solving techniques with step-by-step explanations and examples — from beginner-friendly methods like Hidden Singles to Naked Pairs and beyond.
Auto-Start for Guests
Visiting the site for the first time? A new puzzle now starts automatically — no extra click needed.
Difficulty Cards on the Play Page
The puzzle selection page now shows difficulty levels as cards, making it easier to pick the challenge you're in the mood for.
Refreshed Design
The overall look and feel of the site has been updated — cleaner layout, improved navigation, and better consistency across all pages.
Fixes
- Score rounding on the result page is now more accurate
- Fixed input on iPad
- Fixed the game info panel display

What's New in March 2026
We've been working on making OnSudoku better, and here's what's new:
New Game Engine
We've upgraded the game to a new engine under the hood. It plays the same, but the foundation is now faster and more reliable — especially on slower connections.
More Languages
OnSudoku is now available in Ukrainian, German, French, and Spanish. Switch to your preferred language using the menu at the top of the page.
Learn to Solve Sudoku
We've added step-by-step technique guides to help you improve your skills. Whether you're just starting out or looking to solve harder puzzles, check out the new articles:
- Last Free Cell
- Last Remaining Cell
- Last Possible Number
Each guide includes visual examples you can apply right away.
Results Page
After finishing a game, you now land on a dedicated results page with your performance stats and a motivational quote.
Difficulty Pages
We added separate pages for each difficulty level — Easy, Medium, Hard, Expert, and Extreme — making it easier to find puzzles that match your skill.
Player Profiles
Player profiles now show the date each player joined OnSudoku.
Performance Improvements
We cleaned up some old data in the background to make the game load faster and feel more responsive.
News Page
We replaced the forum with a dedicated news page where we share updates and improvements. This is the first post — bookmark it to stay in the loop.
