Normal Sudoku — play online free
Normal Sudoku is the natural next step after mastering the easy level. The grid has slightly fewer given numbers — around 36 to 37 — which means you will encounter situations where naked singles alone are not enough.
At this level, you will start using a pencil-mark technique: noting possible candidates in each cell to spot patterns. The "hidden single" technique becomes your main tool — finding a number that can only go in one place within a row, column, or block, even when that cell has multiple candidates.
Normal difficulty is the sweet spot for daily practice. The puzzles are challenging enough to keep your brain engaged, but solvable without advanced strategies. Most players find a normal puzzle engaging without being draining.
On OnSudoku, 11,819 normal puzzles have been solved, with an average time of 241 seconds. The points multiplier is 0.2.
Finding normal too easy? Move on to the Medium level, where more advanced techniques come into play.
